Recording trips, tracking business mileage, and managing reimbursements

How do I record a trip?
- Go to your vehicle’s Events tab
- Tap the + button
- Select Trip
- Enter the trip details:
- Date - When the trip occurred
- Start/End odometer - Beginning and ending mileage
- Trip type - Business or Private
- Notes - Route, conditions, or other details
- Tap Save
What’s the difference between Business and Private trips?
- Business - Work-related trips eligible for reimbursement or tax deduction
- Private - Personal trips not claimed for business purposes
You can create custom trip types in Settings > Customize data > Trip Types.
How do I track mileage for reimbursement?
For business trips you want to claim:
- Record the trip and select Business as the trip type
- Add a Client name (the business or project)
- Set your Rate/km (your company’s reimbursement rate)
- Optionally set the Accounting Period for reporting
The app calculates the reimbursement amount automatically based on distance and rate.
What is Trip Computer Data?
The optional Trip Computer Data section lets you record:
- Average Speed - From your car’s trip computer
- Fuel used - As shown on your dashboard
This data helps compare your car’s readings with My Cars calculations.
How do I view my trip history?
- Go to your vehicle’s main screen
- Tap the Events tab
- Filter by Trip to see all recorded trips
You can also view trip statistics in Menu > Stats.
Can I export my trips for expense reports?
Yes! To generate reports:
- Go to Menu > Reports
- Select the date range and trip types
- Export as PDF or CSV
This creates professional mileage logs for reimbursement or tax purposes.
