What is Budget Tracking?

Budget Tracking (PRO feature) helps you set spending limits and monitor your vehicle expenses. You can:

  • Set monthly or yearly budgets
  • Track spending against your limits
  • Get alerts when approaching or exceeding budget
  • Compare spending across periods

How do I set up a budget?

  1. Go to Menu > Budget
  2. Tap Set Budget or the settings icon
  3. Choose your budget period:
    • Monthly - Resets each month
    • Yearly - Resets each year
  4. Enter your total budget amount
  5. Tap Save

Your budget starts tracking immediately.


What does the budget dashboard show?

The Budget dashboard displays:

  • Budget amount - Your set spending limit
  • Current spending - How much you’ve spent this period
  • Remaining budget - Amount left to spend
  • Progress bar - Visual indicator of spending
  • Status - On track, Warning, or Over budget
  • vs Previous period - Comparison with last month/year

What do the budget status indicators mean?

Warning (yellow)Approaching your budget limit
Over Budget (red)Exceeded your budget

The warning threshold is typically 80% of your budget.


Can I set budgets by category? (PRO+)

With PRO+, you can set separate budgets for:

  • Fuel - Refuel expenses
  • Services - Maintenance and repairs
  • Bills - Insurance, parking, etc.

To set category budgets:

  1. Go to Menu > Budget
  2. Tap the settings icon
  3. Enable Category budgets
  4. Set amounts for each category
  5. Save your settings

Can I set budgets per vehicle? (PRO+)

Yes, with PRO+ you can track budgets for individual vehicles:

  1. In Budget settings, enable Per-vehicle budgets
  2. Set a budget for each vehicle
  3. View spending breakdown by vehicle

This is useful when managing multiple vehicles with different expense patterns.


How is spending calculated?

Your budget includes all expenses for the selected period:

  • Refuel costs
  • Service and maintenance costs
  • Bills and other expenses

The period resets automatically (monthly on the 1st, yearly on January 1st).


How do I get budget alerts?

Budget alerts appear:

  • On the Dashboard when approaching limits
  • In the Insights dashboard (PRO+)
  • As notifications (if enabled)

To ensure you receive notifications:

  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Notifications
  2. Enable Budget alerts

Where can I see my spending history?

To view historical spending:

  1. Go to Menu > Budget
  2. Use the date selector to view past periods
  3. Compare with previous periods

Or use Menu > Charts to see spending trends over time.


How do I change or remove my budget?

To modify your budget:

  1. Go to Menu > Budget
  2. Tap the settings icon
  3. Adjust the amount or period
  4. Tap Save

To remove budget tracking, set the budget amount to 0 or disable budget tracking in settings.
